Giacomo Conterno Barolo Francia

Giacomo Conterno Barolo Francia
Vintage of the century.
Interesting aromas of fresh mushrooms and ripe fruit follow through
to a full-bodied palate, with mahogany character and a plummy finish.
Needs some time to come together. Beautiful wine. Best after 2007.

Chateau St. Jean Cabernet Sauvignon Cinq Cépages

Chateau St. Jean Cabernet Sauvignon Cinq Cépages
Fruit for this Cabernet
Sauvignon was selected from the finest Bordeaux variety vineyards
in Sonoma County, to assemble a wine that showcases Sonoma County.
The Alexander Valley grapes highlight bright berry with back notes
of dried herbs, while the Sonoma Valley fruit is from our home vineyard
- the St. Jean Estate Vineyard, and brings black and dense mountain
fruit to the blend. The Knights Valley fruit adds a firm mouthfeel
and pronounced tannins and the Dry Creek Valley grapes tend toward
dark, dense black cherry and berry fruit flavors with a rich mouthfeel.

Jarvis Winery Cabernet Sauvignon

Jarvis Winery Cabernet Sauvignon
Shows rich ripe flavors
and complexity of fruit from start to finish. Just after fermentation
this wine received an extended period of skin contact, which moderates
the tannins. Twenty-four months of aging in new French oak barrels
contributes a beautiful toasty vanilla character to its rich raspberry
intense aroma. Once in a bottle, this wine received an additional
3 years of cave aging, allowing it time to develop in the bottle
and be ready to drink upon release. With proper cellaring, the 750ml
full size bottles should continue to mature beautifully through
2013.

Lagier-Meredith Syrah Mt.Veeder

Lagier-Meredith Syrah Mt.Veeder
The flavor of this wine
is reminiscent of the Northern Rhône in its red berry and white
pepper aromas, but it has more extract and body. It has intense
flavor and deep color but, unlike some other red wines, where big
color usually means big tannin, this Syrah is not harshly tannic
so it drinks well when it is young. It will age very well.

Stoller Vineyards Pinot Noir Estate

Stoller Vineyards Pinot Noir Estate
This is the fifth in a string
of six unprecedented fair-weather harvests for the Willamette Valley,
and one in which we were given the gift of great balance in the
resulting wines. A balance of perfectly ripened fruit and vibrant
acidity, the Stoller Pinot Noir offers up notes of huckleberry,
red currant, and cola in the nose. A brooding, earthy richness enhances
the deep fruit flavors in the mouth, with hints of Asian spice and
toasted oak on the finish. 91 Ponits from Wine Spectator and 91
Points from Parker!

Qupe Roussanne Bien Nacido Hillside Estate

Qupe Roussanne Bien Nacido Hillside Estate
This wine is whole cluster
pressed, the juice is chilled overnight, then went straight to barrel
with most of the lees. The wine was completely barrel fermented
and put through malo. It was aged 16 months in the same barrels
with the first 11 months on the lees without racking. 285 cases
were bottled without filtration in March 2005. This is a big, exotic
wine and a classic representation of Roussanne. The aromas show
honeysuckle, orange rind, almonds, minerals and a hint of smokiness
that’s inherent to Roussanne and complemented by the oak. The flavors
show much of the same with a big robe of fruit and great acidity.
